Wedding time arrives

Friends and family gathered at the Methodist Church in Searcy for Kay and Flave's wedding on Thanksgiving Eve.

The Bowmans arrive as well as Flave's boss and his wife. Allie looked so cute in her red dress and Hayden was especially handsome.

Dee Harper performed the wedding.

Mary helped Reid with his boutonniere. It is a "right handed task."

Flave and Reid chose their tuxes and looked so handsome escorting Kay to the sanctuary.

All of a sudden we have two instant grandsons. What a nice family!

We had a "stand around" after the ceremony so that Kay and Flave could get on the road for their honeymoon and the church personnel could close up shop as well.

Geocaching 101

I had a great opportunity over the weekend to introduce two young men to geocaching. I am not sure who had more fun, them or me! Their first cache was a skirt lifter - a new concept to these fellows!

Reid blocked the view from nearby muggles while Flave signed the log.

On the second cache they met the first of many "red men" they will come across.

They made quick work of the third one, another skirt lifter.  They are wanting to look under every skirt in town now!

The iphone went a little haywire on the 4th cache but Flave used good geosense and spotted it in a hurry!

Then it was Reid's turn to score the smiley first! They make a good team.

Did I mention that was their fifth find of the day?

The sixth and last cache of the day was a camoflaged container. They kept going in and out of the cemetery looking for ground zero. I spotted it first, for a change, and gave them a couple of hints as we were in a hurry at this point. Flave spotted it and then backed up and waited while Reid found it.

Flave signed the log for the team.

Reid managed to get it back into its hiding spot! I think these boys are hooked!

Happy Halloween

Creativity flowed in the Carpenter household in preparation for Halloween.  Reid is painting his bat.

Kay is checking out Flave's progress on the Razorlantern pattern she created!

The porch was eventually ready to welcome any trick or treaters that might arrive.

Friends soon arrived and Flave and Allie posed. She was an amazing princess and Flave?

Young Flave and Reid welcomed the trick or treaters. I am not sure how welcomed the older ones were as a monster and scarecrow jumped out from behind the bushes!

 A hippy, a scarecrow, a monster and a princess - what a combination!

My favorite was the knight in shining armor that appeared at the door!

The Razorbacks beat Vanderbilt 49-14 while the kids toured the neighborhood.

Flave, Reid and Lola, the morning after!

Talk about a treat - meet the soon-to-be Carpenter family, Lola, Kay, Flave, Reid and Flave. This was one of the best weekends I have spent in a very long time.
