Easter holiday

Easter started in typical fashion when Will, Hayden, Patrick, Brian and Jennifer all came to town. After they rode through the woods someone misplaced my camera. But trust me, Kelly and Sean also came to town for a few days. We all had a wonderful visit. Then Leon and I took off to visit friends in Missouri. I hope everyone else got to spend a special holiday with friends and family.

SWAGville aka Jessieville

Some of the local geocachers have organized a group and we call ourselves S.W.A.G. This is the second year we have hosted an event and we about 100 in attendance from Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Charles explained to Leon (ltp to fellow geocachers) what he should do with his pocket cache.

The highlight for me, I think, was running into this couple (Old Paint Man) from Russellville. In the late 1960's they attended the junior high where I was the librarian. We had some fond memories to share.

After a morning of donuts, temporary caches placed near the church where we met, lots of fun with ice breakers, and a bar b q lunch many in the group climbed aboard Jim's (likestocanoe) trailer and off we went down the backroads in the country on an exciting hayride.

Kay and Charles (Zeke and George) brought up the rear and I (trekkin'arkie) was certainly glad they had an extra chair. Well, I guess I am glad Jade, their granddaughter chose not to sit in it.

There are a lot of caches hidden along the Main Haul Road which runs alongside the Ouachita National Forest. In the past Weyerhauser used these roads to haul their timber over to Mtn. Pine to the sawmill and this way they could fly along and not worry about speeding and heavy loads, not to mention much traffic.

For supper we had a big bonfire and cooked hot dogs or in Leon's case, soy dogs.

Now Kay (arkekey) knows what a real hot dog looks like. And of course we followed that with s'mores.

Holly (gingerose) was proud of all the work she and the team had done, as well she should be. It was a great success. I don't know how we can improve for next year.
